Clubs and Activities


Homecoming Dress Up Days
High School Students:
Participate in the homecoming dress-up days and earn points for your class as well as a chance to win a prize. You have to put in some effort to qualify - a hat is not enough! Sign up at lunch with the student council member who has the name-drawing box. Monday: pajama day, Tuesday: throwback day, Wednesday: twin day, Thursday: Dress-up day (school picture day), Friday: Wolverine spirit day.



Lip Sync Battle
Want to have fun? Want to win a prize? Want to be part of a new event at the homecoming pep rally?

Then the SOHS cheerleaders have an activity for you!

We will be having a lip sync battle at the homecoming pep rally, and WE NEED YOU!

Sign up in Mrs. Mattheis' room with a group of 2 or more people by Thursday, September 20th, choose your music (1 min or less), get some costumes ready, and put on an epic performance at the pep rally.

The best lip sync (as determined by the crowd) will win a fabulous prize! Show your Wolverine Pride and participate in this new activity!



Quiz Bowl
The Quiz Bowl team will practice on Monday, Sept 24 and Wednesday, Sept 26 in the South Wing Computer Lab. All students are welcome to attend and to join the team.

Students who wish to use computers in the lab while the team is practicing are welcome to do so. As long as you work quietly, Ms. Helfter is willing to supervise you.

NEW FFA T-Shirt Order
NEW FFA T-shirts MUST be ordered by this Friday, Sept. 21st.

MUST pay when ordering @ North Campus (Ag Room)
Designs are posted at the end of the Sr,Jr,Soph hallway.



FFA Greenhand Fire-Up
ALL FFA members (8th Grade - Seniors) who would like to attend the NW District FFA Greenhand Fire-Up should sign-up in the Ag Room.

The program for this conference will focus on the following themes:
- Keep It Real! Understanding the importance of being authentic.
- This or That. Determine, evaluate and balance priorities.
- True Blue Communication. Learn how to meet new people!
- We Are FFA! Discover opportunities in FFA and SAE!

There will be a college rep here from NWICC on Tuesday, Sept 25 at 2:30. Juniors and seniors interested in visiting with her should sign up outside Mrs. Flynn's office.

Homecoming Trivia Contest
Celebrate homecoming by participating in our trivia contest in the library! Fill out your sheet by the end of the day on Friday, September 21 and turn it in to the library. Winners will be announced the following week. THERE WILL BE PRIZES!

Sports


Open Gym
Open gym on Sunday's at 5 pm until 6 pm in the West and East gyms. Everyone is invited to attend.


Baseball Open Cage
Baseball open cage on Sunday's at 4 pm until 5 pm at Swanson Sports Complex. Players in grades 7-12 are invited to attend. Bring a glove if you have one.



zCommunity Announcements


4-H Clover Kids
4-H Clover Kids
The IA State University Extension and Outreach Clover Kids Program is a fun youth program designed for children in 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade. They meet once a month after school. Limited to the first 20 youth registered per location. Cost: $25, payable online. Contact The ISU extension office for more info (712) 957-5045



Kids Club @ American Reformed Church
Kids Bible Club forms are available at the elementary school. This is sponsored by the American Reformed Church in Primghar on Wednesdays after school from 3:30-4:30 pm beginning Sept. 12th. Kids will be picked up at the east fence at the school and will walk as a group to the church.Please call Dennis Heemstra for more info (712) 261-0157.


6th Grade Boys Basketball
6th Grade Boys Basketball Team info is now available. Sign up forms are available at the elementary school office. Registration fees will be determined at a later date depending on the number of players involved and the number of tournaments that the boys will participate in. If you would like to assist in coaching the boys, please contact Pat Paulsen (712) 229-7354. If you have questions, you may contact Gina Paulsen (712) 229-2681.


5th Grade Boys Basketball
5th Grade Boys Basketball forms are now available. Forms are available in the elementary school office. The cost for the year will run around $100-$150 which will include a reversible jersey for games. They will lay 4-5 tournaments and hope to have practice at least 2 times per week.
